The open house sign is offered in two sizes: 18×24 inches and 24×32 inches. The 18×24 size is the smaller option for sidewalk or lawn placement. The 24×32 size gives a larger face for visibility from the road. For area limits under local sign by-laws, an 18×24 face is about 0.28 m² and a 24×32 face is about 0.50 m².
Lamination is offered as a yes/no option on this product for signs that will be used outdoors. Select it when you order if the sign will be placed outside; leave it off if you do not need it.

As of September 2026, each city sets its own limits for open house directional signs. In Mississauga (Sign By-law 0054-2002, s.29), directional signs may be a maximum of 1 m high and 0.8 m² per face, with a maximum of 6 signs per open house, displayed between 10 am and 6 pm on the day of the open house only, and the sign must show the open house hours; they may sit between the curb and the sidewalk. In Toronto (Municipal Code Ch. 693, §693-4.11), the face may be a maximum of 0.5 m², height between 0.5 m and 1.0 m, maximum width 0.6 m, maximum 6 signs per property, displayed from sunrise to sunset and from 2 hours before to 2 hours after the open house, not staked into the ground, and at least 0.6 m from the sidewalk. In Brampton (Sign By-law 399-2002, s.9(9)), open house A-frames may be a maximum of 0.35 m² and 0.6 m high, placed at least 1 m from the curb and at least 0.3 m from the sidewalk, displayed during the hours of the open house only, and not on medians. Mississauga and Toronto do not require a permit for these signs under the sections cited; confirm Brampton’s permit position with the City. By-laws change and are enforced locally, so confirm the current rules with the municipality before placing signs. This is general information, not legal advice.
